Liz and I were able to get out from the airport and do a bit of exploring in Dubai. It was a fun night walking around the city and checking out some sights. We saw the Burj Khalifa and the fountain show, dipped our feet in the Persian Gulf and saw all sorts of amazing architecture. It was pretty good for getting in after sunset with a departure time that required us being back at the airport before sunrise.
We’re enjoying a bustling business lounge in Dubai right now, getting set to board our flight to Bangkok. As an interesting note on the airport; our terminal is the first terminal in the world designed specifically for the Airbus A380.
For our own historical reference more than anything, CNN is on in the lounge and all of the coverage is of the Baltimore rioting. Dubai was 31C when we landed and 33C at 3:30am when we came back to the airport.
